Smolder in Autumn

The woods around here are dominated by evergreens. The deciduous patches are leafy and usually progress through their leaf turning quite rapidly. In other words, we go from green to branching skeletons in a matter of weeks. I was preemptive this year and found this spot, a little trail alongside a flood-way near the river. I’ve just started to process images from that batch and that area is already blown clean. Fall is just too fast here.
