I’ve wanted to make a series on hay bales for quite some time after coming across some great photos on Flickr. Hay bale season, I’m guessing, started about two months ago and they were rolled up on nearly every field outside the city limits. But I had a difficult time finding interesting locations. The land here is flat, and the skies have been even flatter. Over the last few weeks, the bales have been disappearing and the window seemed all but closed. Every now and then, things go right and came across the above field right before dusk. To boot, a full moon was rising on the opposite end. This should be a fun set to work with, and for this one, I just went with the grain for the processing.
Nice shot. Looking forward to the series!
