Urban Reflection

A friend and I went on a photo walk through the more abandoned area of downtown yesterday. I’ve made this pass a few times so this time I was focused on snagging some shots that weren’t repeats of anything I had on file. This really required me to look around a bit more. Two older buildings have magnificent murals painted on the sides, but I’m not a big fan of photographing another art directly. Turning around I found some good reflections that presented little crops of the huge mural. It took me a few attempts to get the reflection right as I had to climb up higher. I spot-metered the woman’s face and used a wider aperture to shorten the field and snag the reflection with some speed.
